11 Websites to Get You More Real Estate Leads
I have used every single website on this list. I am telling you exactly what I liked and didn’t like. I have no loyalty to one over the others, I just use what works. I’ve used these sites for myself and for many of my Realtor clients that my company generates leads for. This advice will be very useful to since I’ve spent so much time figuring out which sites get the most leads with the least amount of time and money spent.

Here is the list of real estate sites that you can use to get leads.
Craigslist. Yes, this is my number one favorite site for getting leads completely free. If you have used it before and think it doesn’t work, you are wrong. I know this for a fact because I have gotten over 1,000 leads from Craigslist. I posted a little about it here. If enough people leave a comment and request it, I’ll do a video that shows exactly what I do.
Zillow. You can set up a free profile here. From my experience you will get a lead from time to time. It’s worth doing since it’s free and just takes a few minutes. They also have paid accounts that actually do work to bring in leads. It is worth a try in my opinion. The downside is that in most larger cities the best areas are already taken (you pay by zip code, and if the one you want is already taken, you will have to wait until it is available again).
Trulia. This site is very similar to Zillow and one of the other big players as far as real estate sites go.. They also have free accounts and paid accounts. My experience has been pretty good with them, and I actually saw slightly more leads come in for the same price that Zillow cost. I don’t really have enough data to say if Trulia is a better value than Zillow though. And I imagine the numbers change substantially depending on your location.
Backpage. This is a site similar to Craigslist. It is really popular in some area, and almost useless in others. When I have time I take my Craigslist ads and post them here too.
Ebay Classifieds. Ebay bought Kajiji which was actually a pretty decent site for posting free ads. It is now called Ebay Classifieds. A lot of the ads I posted show up very high in Google searches. It is free and they have a real estate section. I don’t get a ton of leads from it, but I do get some. It’s worth using when you have time.
YouTube. Take videos of your listings or take photos and use Animoto to turn them into cool videos. Upload them to YouTube. Be sure to include the address in the title, the description, and the tags. Why should you do this? Because Google owns YouTube and they freakin’ love showing videos in the search results. Seriously it’s worth doing. And one last thing, post a link to your website in the video description with “http://” in front of it. YouTube will turn it into a clickable link. You want people to find you if they like the property.
Facebook. If you are not sharing your listings on your Facebook account then you are probably terrible at figuring out how to market your listings. Don’t be super annoying, but post your new properties every now and then.
Google+. I hate Google+. I find it annoying and don’t want to take the time to learn it (otherwise I love most of Google’s products). But I know people that get great results from it, and I’m smart enough to know that other people can have success with things that I don’t use. If you like it give it a try. Its new interface is very similar to Facebook, which is much better than how unusable it was when it first came out.
Twitter. Ok, most people shouldn’t waste their time with Twitter. I do get leads from it, but I wouldn’t spend too much time unless you are ready to put some time into it. If you don’t have a lot of time to focus on your Twitter account, just link it to your Facebook page so it automatically posts your Facebook updates. It’s really easy. Log in to Facebook, and go to Facebook.com/twitter. Done!
WordPress. This is a free blogging platform, and also one of the biggest, easiest to use, and most well-known. I have coached Realtors that use blogging as a big part of their lead generation. The more you do it the better it works. This subject is too big to cover In detail in this post. If you want to blog you have to go for it and add new content often. That’s all I have to say about it right now.
Blogger. This is another blogging platform. It is owned by Google. It has a couple features that I like over WordPress, but I still feel that WordPress is easier to use and I like it much better. Try them both and see what you like. Or keep using them both. Just don’t duplicate content if you do. Google (the search engine, which you want to show your stuff to others) frowns upon that.
RealtyStore.com. I set up an account here for a client in the past. It was cheap, but it was also a pain in the ass to set up his profile. It didn’t work right, and even though I have a lot of experience with website development, nothing I did would fix it. The site brought in one lead in two months. For the price, that really wasn’t too bad when comparing it to Zillow and the other bigger sites. If you want a little extra thing on the side try them out for a month or two. It might work well in your area. That’s all I have to say about that.
Conclusion
These are just a few sites to use, but they are a good start. I am going to keep using new sites for my clients and posting the reviews on this website. As always I will tell you like it is. If it works for me and my clients you will know. If it doesn’t work you will know also.
